I'm not sure, but I thought it was called "Mother's" and it was on the southside of Plankinton Ave and was an old little Church.  Great hangout place when we were seniors I believe.

The way I remember it ....  It was a little church building which had a coffee house type of atmosphere.  It was similar to the "avant garde" on the East side of Milwaukee. ... Anybody remember that place...The one in Cudahy was called "Mother Blues" and it was affiliated with St. Fred's which was across the street.  I believe that it was intended for  "teens" who were  members & actively going to St. Fred's  CCD classes.  Well that idea never sailed ... but I do remember going to some classes at St. Fred's along with others from Holy Family and even some that weren't Catholic.  Just so we could get into Mother Blues during the week and for the weekend dances.  During the week ,after the CCD classes  bands would audition and than  one would be picked to play at St. Fred's CYO dances or at Mother Blues.

I think Carol Hoagland and few others from Fred's were the ones that picked the bands but I'm not sure on that.

Sue, Isn't that the place that we met the "The Dark Side Headache" and the Marquette Guys.

I remember it didn't  last very long.  I don't think it wasn't up to code beause when the bands would get all set up and eventuall play full force .. The lights would go out  because they blew a fuse and nobody had a flashlite to go in basement.  Sooo, it eventually closed.
